Nutri-Lifta

July 6, 2015 By Rational Nutrition

An excellent powder product supplying macro and micro minerals to any type of grazing animal. Being a powder, stock can eat what they need so can assist in correcting mineral deficiencies. Generally, we recommend ad lib feeding, but, can be mixed in the feed if desired. When stock “go off” Nutri-Lifta then EconoMin can maintain block levels of the various minerals.

Feed in troughs “free choice”, the product weathers well. If it gets wet, it forms a crust and stock continue to lick it. In very wet conditions, if the trough is not under shelter then it will overflow and you will have valuable fertilizer. Costing mere cents per head per day, this product has been the mainstay of many graziers in Australia and abroad. This product is a great benefit before and after joining as well as before and after calving/lambing.

Cal Guard + K

July 6, 2015 By Rational Nutrition

horsesCal Guard + K basically supplies necessary mineral, electrolyte (salts) and most vitamin requirements of horses regardless of what they are fed, what stage of growth they are at, or what type of work they are doing. Only the dose will vary

Cal Guard + K label shows exactly what the product contains, the levels recommended by the NRC and the percentage of those requirements supplied by the product.

You will notice, in some cases the percentage provided is higher than in others. This is to allow for likely levels in what the horse is eating. For instance, oats has a Ca:P ratio of 1:4 where diet should contain 2:1 / 1:5. Thus Cal Guard + K contains more calcium than phosphorus. Other minerals are treated similarly.

The vitamin E in the product is purely as an anti oxidant. Iron destroys vitamin E to the actual level may not be as shown. We recommend vitamin E be fed separately to Cal Guard +K. The product does not contain B group vitamins, horses synthesize their own B group and should  they be low then we suggest separate supplementation.

Potassium (K) is included for horses that are engaged in long slow work, but is also necessary to all horses. Potassium with magnesium can have a calming effect on nervous or “fizzy horses”.

Horses need a daily intake of vitamins and minerals, hard feed and pasture both lack something somewhere. Cal Guard + K provides a very cheap and effective insurance that your horse is getting what it requires in ingredients listed.

Clients have remarked on such things as, hoof improvement, improvement in coat condition, appetite, reproductive problems, lack of “splints” less likeliehood of shin soreness, less likeliehood of Australian stringhalt, more alert, more stamina and better “doing”.

Compare the cost with any other similar product,  a 400 Kg horse in intense work will eat about 36 cents of Cal Guard + K Dosage is 25g per 100 Kg of body weight. Introduce gradually and split into 2 feeds if you wish. We do not go in for expensive packaging or advertising. Our sales are the result of “word of mouth” and repeat business.
